This month’s Wireless nearly didn’t happen after I slipped on the ice and put myself out of action for several weeks. Many thanks to guest presenter Brian Greene who kindly stepped in at the last minute and produced a packed show. Hear an interview with Gavin Byrne of www.archive.ie, a project of community radio station NEAR FM in Dublin. Brian also visits a Dublin radio rally held to mark World Radio Day in February and he hears the inspirational story of Mark O’Toole, who set up Charity Radio (now Easy Radio). In our regular Radio Retro feature, there’s also a fascinating recording of a row between Gay Byrne and a Dublin religious pirate station in 1987.
