In late December 2022, a new temporary radio station called Classic Hits 80s took to the airwaves in Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Clare and Galway. The station, which broadcast for a month under a 30-day licence, was the first ‘brand extension’ of existing 80s and 90s station Classic Hits Radio.
CEO of Classic Hits, Kevin Branigan, explained the background to the temporary service and spoke about the challenges facing commercial radio today. The interview was broadcast first on episode #67 of Wireless on Flirt FM.
