Friday June 23rd 2017 was National Community Radio Day, an initiative of CRAOL, the community radio forum of Ireland. To get into the spirit of the day, Flirt FM broadcast a special live programme about community radio in Ireland. Paula Healy invited me to co-present the show and we lined up an hour of new Irish music and the best of material about community radio from Wireless over the past year.
The special programme featured extracts from interviews with community radio activist and academic Dr. Rosemary Day of Mary Immaculate College, Jack Byrne of NEAR FM in Dublin, Mary Ruddy of Connemara Community Radio, Ray Burke of Wired FM in Limerick and Liam Byrne of Limerick City Community Radio. Thanks also to LCCR who re-broadcast this show.
